PLEASANTON, Calif., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ:WDAY), the trusted agentic platform for HR, finance, and IT, has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud ERP Financ e. A complimentary copy of the report is available here.

Workday Financial Management helps finance teams act on what their numbers are showing in real time, not just after the books are closed. By bringing finance data, business processes, and AI together on a single platform, Workday helps organizations close their books faster, tighten controls, and get the insights they need to drive growth. Workday is trusted by thousands of organizations around the world, including Ochsner Health, Opera, Skyscanner, and The University of Melbourne.

"In finance, there's no room for 'almost right,'" said Max Wessel, senior vice president of product, Workday. "We believe this recognition validates what we hear from CFOs every day – they want real speed and intelligence, but never at the expense of trust and control."

As the only vendor to be recognized as a Customers' Choice by Gartner Peer Insights™, Workday helps finance teams spend less time reconciling accounts, booking accruals, and pulling audit evidence, and more time making decisions based on those numbers. Workday does this through:

Governance built into every process. Workday agents are lawful by design. They follow the policies, permissions, rules, and business processes that already run the business, so agents anticipate what needs attention, suggest next steps, and take action within each company's guardrails. That gives finance teams the speed of automation without giving up the accuracy and accountability finance teams require.

Insight that drives business action. With Workday Decision Intelligence, finance teams get one AI tool connected to live workforce, financial, and planning data – no more digging through spreadsheets or outdated exports. Teams can ask a question in plain language, get an answer based on real-time data, compare options, and take action based on existing Workday permissions. This means finance teams can spend less time explaining what happened and more time deciding what to do next.

Controls that review more transactions, sooner. Workday can continuously test the transactions flowing through finance, so errors can be caught and fixed early, before they become a problem. Financial Test Suite checks transactions against a company's policies and rules, flags anything that looks off, and leaves a clear record of what was tested and why. This helps finance move from checking a small sample after the fact to catching issues early, while they're still easy to fix.

A faster, more reliable close. Workday brings AI agents to the close, changing the way teams work, moving them from doing the manual prep work to reviewing and approving it. These agents help coordinate work, monitor readiness, identify risk, and back up the numbers with clear evidence. Agents including the Financial Close Agent and Financial Audit Agent can manage close activities, flag issues that need a person's judgment, and automate audit evidence collection. Together, finance moves from scrambling at close time to being ready every day without taking accountants out of the decisions that matter.
