Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

(b) Effective January 26, 2022 (the “Effective Date”), Hamilton E. James will retire from his positions as a director and Executive Vice Chairman of Blackstone Inc. (“Blackstone”). Until the Effective Date, Mr. James will continue to serve in his current positions.

In connection with Mr. James’ retirement, as of the Effective Date, the size of the board of directors of Blackstone will be reduced from thirteen members to twelve members.
