1. Represents shares of Common Stock, par value $0.01 per share (the "Common Stock") of Charah Solutions, Inc. (the "Issuer") owned by the Krieger Charitable Trust and Common Stock of the Issuer held indirectly by the Reporting Person pursuant to a power of attorney in favor of the Reporting Person. The Reporting Person disclaims beneficial ownership of these securities, and this report shall not be deemed an admission that the Reporting Person is the beneficial owner of the securities for purposes of Section 16 or for any other purpose.
