Explanation of Responses:

1. The price reported is a weighted average price. These shares were purchased in multiple transactions at prices ranging from $4.87 to $5.20, inclusive. The reporting person undertakes to provide to HomeStreet, Inc. (the "Company"), any security holder of the Company, or the staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission, upon request, full information regarding the number of shares purchased at each separate price within the ranges set forth in this footnote.

2. Participants in the Company 401(k) Savings Plan, or the "401(k) Plan", have the authority to direct voting of shares they hold through the 401(k) Plan.

Remarks:

This amendment is being filed solely to correct the number of shares owned directly and indirectly by Mr. Hand on May 5, 2023. It was previously reported that Mr. Hand purchased 3,167 shares directly on May 5, 2023, when in fact he purchased these shares indirectly through the 401(k) Plan.
