Explanation of Responses:

1. On April 26, 2022, 5,400 Stock Awards were granted to the reporting person pursuant to the terms of The Eastern Company 2020 Stock Incentive Plan and a Stock Award Agreement, at no exercise price. These stock awards shall vest on March 1, 2025 (1,836 stock awards shall vest provided the reporting person remains an employee of the issuer on the exercise date, and 3,564 shall vest provided the issuer meets certain performance thresholds prescribed in the stock award agreement and the reporting person remains an employee of the issuer on the exercise date).
