Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

Anirban Kundu, Chief Technology Officer, has notified Root, Inc. (the "Company") of his intention to resign from the Company, effective October 29, 2021, in order to pursue an outside opportunity. Equity awards granted to Mr. Kundu by the Company will forfeit upon his departure. Matt Bonakdarpour, Chief Data Science & Analytics Officer, will oversee the Company's engineering organization as the Company initiates a search for a Chief Technology Officer.
