Kemper Corporation (NYSE:KMPR) (the "Company") today announced that it granted inducement equity awards to Eric E. Kappler, Executive Vice President, President, P&C, in connection with the commencement of his employment with the Company.

Effective August 3, 2026, Kappler was granted an award of restricted stock units with respect to 30,738 shares of Kemper Corporation’s common stock ("Common Stock") and an award of performance stock units with respect to 17,077 shares of Common Stock at target (for which up to 36,431 shares may be earned based on performance).

These restricted stock units are scheduled to vest in three equal increments on each of the first three anniversaries of the grant date, generally subject to Kappler’s continued employment through each vesting date. The performance stock units provide a target number of shares of Common Stock that may be earned over a three-year performance period based on achievement with respect to various financial metrics.

These awards were approved by the Board of Directors of the Company, and were granted under the Kemper Corporation 2026 Inducement Plan as employment inducement awards pursuant to New York Stock Exchange Listing Rule 303A.08.
