Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

(b) On March 3, 2025, Rudolph I. Estrada notified the Board of Directors of East West Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) of his decision to retire as a director of the Company, effective immediately. Mr. Estrada’s decision to retire is not the result of any dispute or disagreement with the Company or the Company’s Board of Directors on any matter relating to the operations, policies or practices of the Company. The Board of Directors and the Company express their sincere gratitude to Mr. Estrada for his many years of dedicated service, leadership, and invaluable contributions to the Company, and extend their best wishes to Mr. Estrada in his retirement.
