Item 1.04. Mine Safety - Reporting of Shutdowns and Patterns of Violations.

On August 11, 2022, Aracoma Coal Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Alpha Metallurgical Resources, Inc., received an imminent danger order issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (“MSHA”) under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 to Lynn Branch No. 2 Mine, located in Logan County, West Virginia. The order alleged that unsafe roof conditions existed near the face of an active working section. Corrective actions were immediately taken. No accident or injury occurred in connection with the alleged condition, and MSHA terminated the order.
