It invests in the fixed income markets of the United States. The fund primarily invests in tax-exempt municipal bonds with remaining maturities of less than 15 years. It seeks to invest in securities that are rated in the four highest categories by a statistical rating organization. The fund benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Barclays 10-Year Municipal Bond Index. It was formerly known as Neuberger Berman California Intermediate Municipal Fund Inc.
